Turning technical curiosity into commercial capability

Where technical curiosity is structured, tested and transformed into real-world capability. We explore new technologies, prototype ideas and validate what works (and what doesn't). We turn experimentation into reusable assets and commercial advantage.

The pipeline

Image

1. Curiosity

Identify an opportunity or problem.

Image

2. Experiment

Test the problem quickly - is it still an issue?

Image

3. Prototype

Create and build something usable.

Image

4. Validation

Prove that it works and fixes the problem.

Image

5. Packaging

Make it into something that can be reused.

6. Deployment

Develop it into an asset that has real client value.

Experiments

Experiments are the core of inQubator. This is where curiosity becomes structured exploration and ideas are tested against real-world scenarios. Each experiment starts with an idea and is built rapidly. Some will evolve into something reusable, some will teach us something and some will be completely useless.

The key is that every experiment moves us forward whether it is successful or not.

Hackathons

This is where momentum accelerates. They create focused space for rapid experimentation, collaboration across teams and thinking that is not constrained by the usual project process.

In a short timeframe, teams take an idea from curiosity to working prototype. We test our assumptions, explore technology we don't normally user and uncover new opportunities.

Hackathons don’t just generate prototypes; they surface capability, sharpen thinking, and often lay the groundwork for future commercial offerings.

What our curious minds say

I got into programming because I love puzzles and solving problems - it's how my mind works. inQubator allows us to work on things that are outside of the norm, and solve problems we wouldn't normally be involved in.

Ben Franklin
CTO

I’ve always been driven by the ‘what if?’ What if we approached this differently, what if we pushed this further? inQubator gives us the space to explore those questions properly and to experiment without worrying about time.

Gareth Nunn

Lead Developer

What excites me about engineering isn’t just delivering features, it’s understanding how things work and how they could work better. inQubator creates room for that deeper thinking and experimentation.

FAQs

What is inQubator?

inQubator is a lab for new ideas and turning curiosity into measurable client value. It is not just a playground for new technology - it's aim is to result in something tangible that can be packaged and deployed for client use.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! We invest our time so that we can end up with solutions that have real-world value.

Can I get involved?

We are planning on opening up hackathons to the public in the future, so watch this space.

How do I send you an idea?

If you have something you think would make a great lab project, or you are just curious about something, send us the details using the form links at the top of the page.

inQubator is a lab run by Quba with the aim of turning technical curiosity into commercial capability.
